Where I find inspiration as an interior designer

This weeks FAQ is wondering where I find inspiration for interior design at House of Albi. I LOVE this question because my design style is a huge reflection of where I find inspiration, so let's dive in!

I find inspiration in so many places but I think mainly within the environment around me, through vintage treasures and also worldwide architecture.

I am fascinated by natural light and really love the challenge of manipulating how natural light enters the home through shadows and reflections.

Our lush forests and lakeside shores inspire the serene, calm environments I create within the home. I absolutely love bringing these blue and green colour pallets into my designs as well.

Whenever I see an antique market, you best believe I am pulling into the parking lot ready to explore. I find so much inspiration in the craftsmanship, intricate details and natural elements of antiques. The stories behind these pieces are absolutely incredible and add so much depth into a design.

Architecture from around the world is so drastically different from city to city but so incredibly beautiful! Incorporating little hints of worldwide influences into designs plays a huge role in telling the story of those who live within, where they come from and where they have been. I love the depth and interest these features bring into a home.

What inspires you as a homeowner? I would love to hear your thoughts!
